Evidence Based Programs
We deliver evidence-based prevention curriculum directly in the Rapid City Area Schools and they benefit students in grades 4-12.
Each curriculum is broken down by grade level and designed to mitigate risk factors and enhance protective factors
related to alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. In the 24-25 school year, we are providing limited prevention services
in the Douglas School District's middle school.
Youth to Youth Groups
In this peer-to-peer style program students work with Lifeways Counselors to help their peers make positive choices. By providing peer to peer education and creating awareness in the schools, Lifeways and our youth are creating positive change.
Outreach for School and Community
Our outreach for schools and our community includes training, presentations and consultations regarding important trends in prevention.
Selective Prevention
Designed to target individual, groups or populations that may have risk factors
Education Groups for At Risk Students
Risk factors for youth substance use can include; family history of substance use or substance use disorder, favorable parental attitudes towards substance use, poor parental monitoring, association with delinquent or substance using peers, lack of school connectedness, low academic achievement, childhood abuse, mental health issues and youth new to a community or school.
